About Saberos
To RISE
is to KNOW.
Saberos is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding knowledge, mentorship, wellness, and opportunity for Latino, multiracial/ethnic, and men of color. Rooted in the belief that to know is to rise, we are committed to building holistic pathways for young men to thrive in school, succeed in their careers, and rise into leadership.
We exist because too many students navigate education and career transitions without the mentorship, resources, or cultural support systems they need. By combining scholarships, mentorship, and wellness programs, Saberos equips students not only to achieve but also to sustain their success.
Saberos isn’t just about providing aid—it’s about creating a movement where young men feel seen, supported, and prepared to lead.
Founder & Strategic Director
Nasaiah Algarin
Saberos was founded by Nasaiah Algarin, an education advocate and community builder passionate about creating pathways for Latino, multiracial/ethnic, and men of color to thrive. As Founder and Strategic Director, Nasaiah leads Saberos’ vision, strategy, and program development—shaping scholarships, mentorship, and wellness opportunities that meet students at every stage of their journey.
The idea for Saberos grew out of both lived experience and observation. Too often, young men of color navigate school and career transitions without the mentorship, resources, or cultural support they need. Nasaiah saw that while scholarships or academic programs might exist, they rarely addressed the whole person—balancing ambition with wellness, pairing financial access with mentorship, or building long-term pathways to leadership.
Saberos was born from a desire to change that. By centering knowledge, wellness, mentorship, and opportunity, Nasaiah set out to build an organization where young men don’t just succeed in the short term—they rise, thrive, and lead.
